From the Founder: When the Season Feels Heavy: Finding Purpose in the Growing Pain

Let me be honest with you: starting a business is not for the faint of heart. It's not easy, glamorous, or predictable.

I saw a video recently with a quote that hit me square in the chest: "Being an entrepreneur is doing work on the days even when you don't get paid." That's one of the realest things I've heard, and it pushes me forward every single day.

But here's the thing about me: I'm a person of service. Always have been. And sometimes when you're being of service, that doesn't always come with payment. I've made peace with that truth because my why is bigger than my bank account on any given Tuesday.

This past week put me in situations where I was on the receiving end of generosity. Real, unexpected, show-up-when-you-need-it-most generosity. And in the same breath, I was able to extend that same generosity to others. There's something profound about being in the middle of that flow, giving and receiving at the same time, even when you're in a season that feels uncertain.

Today I met someone who reminded me of something critical: this season doesn't last forever. Some seasons are meant to make you stronger. Some are designed to stretch you, break you open, and rebuild you into who you're meant to become.

But here's what really struck me: when you're in the midst of growth, in the thick of growing pains, and you're still able to give to others? That's a sign you're on the right path. That's confirmation that your foundation is stronger than you think.

Maybe you're reading this and questioning your purpose. Maybe you're wondering if you're on the right path, if the struggle is worth it, if anyone even notices the work you're putting in.

I want you to hear this:

  • Be grateful for the gifts you have. Not just the talents and skills, but the resilience, the vision, the stubborn belief that keeps you moving forward.

  • Be grateful for those surrounding you. The people who show up, who see you, who believe in what you're building even when you can't see it yourself.

  • Walk in your purpose. Not someone else's timeline. Not someone else's definition of success. Yours.

  • Be open to moving as the universe pushes you. Don't block what is meant for you because it doesn't look the way you thought it would. Don't resist the redirection that's actually protection.

I believe this with everything in me: there is never a coincidence. All things happen on purpose. Every conversation, every setback, every unexpected blessing, every person who crosses your path.

It might not always be clear in the beginning. The dots might not connect until you're looking backward. But have faith. Trust the process. Trust your purpose.

At P Three Consulting, our tagline is "Strategy That Moves. Stories That Connect." But lately, I've been thinking about what it really means for strategy to move. It means it adapts. It breathes. It responds to the season you're in without losing sight of where you're going.

The same is true for you in your journey. Your strategy for this season might look different than it did six months ago. Your story might be evolving in ways that surprise you. And that's exactly as it should be.

Keep moving. Keep serving. Keep trusting.

The season will shift. But the seeds you're planting right now? They're taking root.
